Spain international mortgage applicants reminded of timeframe difference

Those in the UK who are looking to move to Spain with the help of an international mortgage have been reminded of the significant timeframe difference between the two nations.

Chris Marshall, founder of Almerimarlife.com - a privately run site that combines both a personal blog with a community forum - has noted this factor is one of the main alterations Brits encounter when relocating to the Iberian Peninsular country.

The industry figure explained Spaniards tend to commute different distances than their British counterparts when making their way into work, adding: "As a rule, they're getting into work about nine o' clock but they don't have breakfast before they go. Breakfast is a coffee and croissant around mid-morning."

All these variances may therefore need to be looked at by international mortgage applicants considering their work options when heading overseas.

Mr Marshall pointed out most Spanish workers are on the job until 19:30 or 20:00 local time, meaning an 'afternoon' is much later than it is in the UK, while meeting up after work is unlikely to happen until around 21:00 to 21:30.
