A French property portal is offering international mortgage customers new opportunities in the south-west of France .
The south-west of France may be an attractive destination for international mortgage customers, it has been claimed.
According to My-French-House.com, the area has long been popular among Brits buying second homes or moving abroad.
However, spokesman Patrick Joseph explained that low-cost air travel and more attractive prices have made buying in the region more appealing than ever.
The property portal has recently made a number of new homes available to match demand from British buyers and the representative explained that there is good reason for the popularity of the south-west.
"This part of France boasts an average of 2,000 hours of sunshine a year and has the benefit of being within easy reach of the coast and the mountains," he said.
"The Atlantic waves make wide ocean-fronting resorts like Biarritz, which hosts the annual Women's World Longboard Championships, a perfect destination for surfing enthusiasts."
Skiing and snowboarding in the Pyrenees makes the area a year-round tourism destination, with resorts such as St Lary Soulan, Piau Engaly and Peyragudes giving Brits the chance to enjoy winter sports when the sea is too cold for surfing.
