The US may interest international mortgage applicants

The US could be a popular destination among international mortgage applicants in the near future, as it has been claimed property prices in the country may be about to fall further.

Marc Da-Silva, founder of Property Journalist, noted those considering relocating across the pond might put off the move until next year, as the costs are likely to tumble between now and then.

One place international mortgage applicants may wish to move to is Florida, as Mr Da-Silva explained there are currently many homes available in the state, with more to come onto the market in the not-so-distant future.

The industry figure - who has written sector-related news for a number of major publications, including the Daily Mail, Daily Mirror and Daily Express - observed: "There has been a bit of an up-tick in demand in places like Florida because it is a very popular holiday home destination."

Although current data is suggesting a strong housing market in New York, the remainder of the nation appears to be struggling, with banks sitting on a lot of repossessed stock to be released at a later date.
