Australia to remain popular among international mortgage applicants

Australia is likely to remain a popular relocation destination among Brits using international mortgages to facilitate a move overseas.

Liz Rowlinson, editor of A Place in the Sun Magazine - the official publication of the Channel 4 series of the same name - has suggested the country will retain its attraction to British property buyers over the coming years, with a number of cities proving favourable to those heading abroad.

According to the industry expert, the last few years have seen Perth emerge as a top location among expatriates, while Victoria and New South Wales are also common choices for Brits.

People researching international mortgages are therefore likely to have plenty of choice when it comes to finding a suitable place to live down under.

Ms Rowlinson pointed out most individuals buying property in Australia are doing so in a bid to move to the nation on a permanent basis, as opposed to using the dwelling as a second home .

She added the incentive to work there is one of the main reasons why Brits are looking to purchase an abode in the Southern Hemisphere nation.
