Individuals with their finger on the pulse of the housing market abroad may find international mortgages are products they are increasingly researching at present.
This is because Les Calvert, director at Property-Abroad.com - a specialist in overseas property - has claimed astute investors are still looking to purchase housing overseas.
The industry figure was speaking in response to new figures from Knight Frank that suggested the global housing market is currently at its weakest since 2009.
Mr Calvert, however, said such ventures are still appealing to Brits, as long as they do their homework on prospective buys.
"Like every investment, it depends on the amount of research that you do both within the market as a country and on a local basis," he pointed out.
Factors people may want to take into account in this regard include how well a particular town or resort has fared since the global economic downturn and whether tourism has risen or fallen in this time.
