Those in the market for an international mortgage might be interested in the latest advice from Spanish-Living.com.
The firm's managing director recently discussed the property market in Spain and had some tips for those planning to buy in the European destination.
According to Adrian Warriner, Brits looking at Spanish homes should first find a good English-speaking lawyer to ensure the deal is right for them in a legal sense.
He added that a suitable estate agent is also important as they will have experience and local knowledge that can be vital in making the right purchase.
"Gather as much information as you possibly can - about the house, - about the area, - about the urbanisation and the people within it - about everything," he advised.
"Do your homework, and lots of it. Set your budget and stick to it. If you're a serious buyer and have the money available, you'd be amazed at what some determined haggling can get you at this moment."
However, Mr Warriner suggested that Brits be careful not to overstretch themselves and look at things from a worst case scenario when planning.
