Croatia could be of interest to international mortgage applicants

Fri, 17 Feb 2012
It appears an increasing number of international mortgage applicants are choosing Croatia as their destination of choice with regard to setting up a holiday home to rent.

According to HomeAway.co.uk, the nation was the rising star in Europe throughout 2011, with greater numbers heading to the country as they sought sunnier climes.

The website reported Croatia witnessed a 35 per cent jump in property listings towards the tail-end of last year when compared with the same spell 12 months earlier.

In addition, the portal also recorded a leap in the number of booking enquiries it received as 2012 drew to a close.

Those considering their international mortgage options may therefore find Croatia a suitable location in which to set up a holiday home, as many would-be renters are likely to be interested in such dwellings for years to come.

Another place of interest might also be Spain, as the company - which has been in operation for more than 15 years - revealed supply of holiday rental accommodation in the Iberian Peninsula nation escalated markedly in the final quarter of 2011.
