Spain continuing to attract international mortgage applicants

Spain is continuing to attract international mortgage applicants who are eager to secure a second home in the sun.

Taylor Wimpey Spain has noted people looking to relocate overseas often find the process is less stressful when they set their sights on an established and familiar location - such as the Iberian Peninsula country.

According to the company, the first ten months of 2011 alone saw nearly 51 million visitors stepping foot in the nation.

This represented an escalation of eight per cent compared to the same period in 2010, with individuals choosing the destination for the local hospitality and ease of accessibility among other factors.

International mortgage applicants may therefore find Spain is the ideal place to set up a new home and enjoy the Mediterranean lifestyle.

Barbara Hibbert, a customer of Taylor Wimpey - formed following the coming together of George Wimpey and Taylor Woodrow in 2007 - who bought a property from the company in 2005, said: "These houses have been built to live in ... the detail and finish are of such fabulous quality that you know this house has been built to last."
